Somerset Art Weeks 2012, Unravelled, venue 174

Art week is nearly upon us and we are all getting very excited to see the venues and work come together.   Unravelled is a contemporary exhibition of works by Nina Gronw-Lewis, Leah Hislop and Bryony Tidball all recent graduates from Somerset College/Plymouth Uni.

Leah will be working on her site specific instillation during art weeks where she will be weaving with light, visit us during art weeks to see this work develop and return to see this work completed on 30th September 11-6

Bryony’s sculptural instillation art narrates the relationship between humans and animals. Her impressive work shown at Somerset College for this years degree show, made using hundreds of feathers will be installed at the barn and will be the centre piece for our storytelling evening Saturday 22nd 6pm. Hannah weaves words and spins yarns in this atmospheric venue.

Nina’s work explores the collective identity of family as she re works textiles from the past. She will be holding weaving workshops on saturdays and sundays at 2pm, no need to book- first come first served basis. You are encourage to bring textiles from your past, clothes, blankets etc.
